How to Pack in an Organized Manner
Published on Wednesday, 06 January 2010

Each may have his own style in packing. But the following steps may be helpful in keeping your packing orderly and easy.

De-clutter and Pack Non-Essentials

The trick is to start packing early so you can finish packing everything before the move. That is why you should pack as much as you can even if the move is still several weeks away. You should pack the things that are not very important to your everyday living. For instance, you can pack your books and CDs way in advance. You can even pack the appliances that you seldom use. Out of season clothes can be packed first as well.

Packing the Essentials Last

The clothes you are using must, of course, be packed last. Dishes and kitchenware should be packed on the last day as well so you will have something to use for cooking and eating until your move. Other appliances like the TV and the computer should be packed beforehand but they can be among the last things to be packed.

In packing, don't forget to use the appropriate boxes and to provide sufficient cushion so you can avoid damage to your things. Labeling is also an important part of packing as this will make unpacking and organizing easier when you get to your new home.
